對繼母又愛又恨的叛逆少年哈藍，拒絕再被玩弄於股掌間而逃家到愛丁堡，竟巧遇酷似母親年輕時模樣的美麗女子凱特。哈藍偷偷棲身在飯店屋頂的鐘樓裡，恣意穿梭在古城的階梯窄巷間，尋找屬於自己的樂園；再度透過望遠鏡，發現的不再是過去的鬼魂，美麗的凱特就在對窗。全片宛如襯有英式搖滾的愛丁堡老街完全漫遊手冊，迷人至極。
